Rosacea – Rosacea is a common condition that typically affects adults over 30 years, but can be seen at younger ages. Both men and women can be affected. It is more common in lighter skinned persons, but can be seen in people of any skin color.
There are several subtypes of rosacea, from just facial redness, to eye irritation, to bumps, to enlargement of areas of the face (most commonly the nose), to an uncommon form where the face is red and swollen. Enlargement of areas of the face (e.g., rhinophyma is enlargement of the nose) is most commonly seen in men with rosacea.
All forms can be treated. Dr. Buster utilizes topical, oral, light based (e.g., IPL, laser), and surgical (electrocautery, dermabrasion, etc.) treatments tailored to her patients needs.
