Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are neuromodulators that are used to temporarily smooth out or lessen the depth of wrinkles. They are slightly different in form and carrier proteins, but all work by blocking nerve signals that direct muscles to contract when making expressions. When muscles can’t contract, skin lines and folds cannot form. Botox/Dysport/Xeomin can also help smooth deeper etched lines over time and may be combined with other treatments such as laser, peels or microneedling. Over time, sun damage, environmental exposures, and aging result in free radical damage and volume reduction (fat, collagen, and bone) giving the skin less of a scaffolding to shape over and subsequent sagging and wrinkles.
Botox/Dysport/Xeomin are injected into the muscles under the skin to reduce the muscle activity that causes frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. You may see results as soon as 1-2 days after treatment, and results last up to 4 months.
