Laser and light are great options for treating unwanted hair. At VibrantSkin Dermatology and laser, Dr. Buster uses nd:yag laser and intense pulse light to remove undesired hair. Hair reduction requires more than one treatment and does not remove all hair. Hair is decreased by 60-90% after completion of a treatment series. Results depend on color and location of hair follicles. Generally anywhere from 4 to 12 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart are needed for maximum results.

Typically only darker hairs can be treated with laser and light, leaving electrolysis as the only option for blonde, grey and white hairs. Now at VibrantSkin Dermatology and Laser we have a new technology that allows Dr. Buster to also treat light hair. The area is first treated with microneedling, then a specialized ink is applied to the area in repeated intervals and then followed by laser or IPL treatment. Research indicates that the pigment binds to the hair follicle allowing it to be targeted by laser/light.
